On April 12, the Public Policy Forum will recognize her work with the Emerging Leader Award at its Annual Testimonial Dinner & Awards in Toronto.

We Want Real Partnership

In April 2020, the Energy Future Forum convened a plenary session on the critical importance of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and full Indigenous participation and ownership in Canada’s energy development. The following is a blended transcript edited for clarity and conciseness of Indigenous economic leaders Alicia Dubois, Tabatha Bull, Mark Podlasly, J.P. Gladu and Kim Baird. These leaders spoke about their vision for economic reconciliation, the challenge of access to capital and the opportunity UNDRIP presents to catalyze economic development by making real partnership a prerequisite for any project to move forward in Canada.

How One Indigenous Service Agency Is Fighting COVID and Winning

"We're going to send our helpers in and we're not going to stop." The Kenora Chiefs Advisory, an Indigenous-led health and social services agency, got to work right away in the nine First Nations it serves to stop COVID from entering. And so far, it's worked.

Indigenous Women & the Law: Scholars Discuss Education and Indigenous Legal Orders

Over the past 20 years, Indigenous legal orders (laws rooted in the practices of Indigenous societies), have received increased attention from both the academic and legal communities. In an effort to foster Indigenous legal knowledge-building in Canada, the Public Policy Forum hosted a panel discussion in Ottawa in October.

Reconciliation and Corporate Canada

The Public Policy Forum (PPF) is working with its partners to identify corporate champions of reconciliation. These Canadian champions will help develop a knowledge base which the Canadian government, government partners and corporate Canada can use to implement call to action #92, in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's (TRC) report. Call to action #92 identifies a number of goals including consent, economic development, equitable jobs, and intercultural training.
