Philippe Batani

Vice-President, Communications and Public Affairs, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec

Philippe Batani has held the role of Vice-President, Communications and Public Affairs at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec since 2017. He leads the teams responsible for international communications, Québec communications, internal communications and public affairs. He also supports CDPQ Global in its positioning and government relations activities.

Before joining CDPQ, Mr. Batani held various management positions in key Québec industries, including energy and consumer products. As part of his responsibilities, he collaborated on major investment projects involving domestic and international companies. Previously, he worked as a strategic advisor to many Canadian and international companies in a variety of sectors ranging from transportation and energy infrastructure to environmental management, retail sales and consumer goods. He began his career as an Economist at Environment Canada and then worked at the Department of Finance Canada.

Mr. Batani has a Master’s degree in Economics from Université de Montréal. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Quebec Business Council on the Environment and the Advisory Committee of the Institut du Québec.
