With increasing globalization, accelerating technology and an aging population, now is a good time to reflect on how governments can maximize agility in their operations. A new report by the Public Policy Forum, in partnership with PwC Canada, finds governments are beginning to change the ways they do business in order to better serve Canadians. Agile Government: Responding to Citizens’ Changing Needs provides valuable insights into what agility means to today’s governments. The report synthesizes the findings from pan-Canadian round tables and interviews with leaders across sectors. The discussions signify a growing sense that now is the time to take chances on public sector innovation and case studies offer evidence that innovative change is already underway. It’s our objective that this report will help governments meet those challenges by focusing on opportunities to be more responsive, flexible, creative and attuned to Canadians’ needs.
