Canada has already made bold moves to harness AI’s potential. Most recently the federal government announced a $2.4 billion investment in AI computing infrastructure, adoption, and safety to signal our commitment to leading in this space. Our country ranks second globally in academic grants for AI scientific discovery, according to the World Economic Forum. But investment alone isn’t enough.
The real challenge lies in translating this potential into tangible economic gains. Despite numerous discussions on AI and productivity, concrete strategies for implementation remain elusive. How can we ensure AI benefits reach beyond tech hubs to boost productivity across all sectors? How do we navigate the complex landscape of AI adoption while addressing ethical concerns and potential job market disruptions?
The Public Policy Forum, as part of its productivity series, is convening a panel of diverse experts to tackle these pressing questions. Join us on January 14 at 1 pm Eastern to take part in the discussion. Our goal? To cut through the noise and provide actionable insights on leveraging AI to reverse Canada’s productivity decline, enhance our global competitiveness, and improve the lives of all Canadians.
This isn’t just about keeping pace; it’s about setting the pace. The future of Canada’s economy in the AI era starts now.
