Testimonial Dinner Award

Emerging Leader Award – presented by TD Bank Group

Paying tribute to distinguished Canadians who have made an outstanding contribution to the quality of public policy and governance in our country. We welcome nominees from various professions who have fostered understanding and cooperation between the public and private sectors. Past honourees.

Criteria

Canadians who:

  • have built bridges between the public sector and one or more other sectors of Canadian society: business, labour, not-for-profit, academic, media;
  • have improved the public policy process and/or public sector management;
  • have demonstrated leadership and initiative during their career, mostly here in Canada.
Honouring young Canadians who personify leadership in public policy and civic discourse. Recipients are in the early stages of their career and demonstrate exceptional initiative to the principles of public service. Participation in social enterprises/initiatives which contribute to public engagement and good governance are also welcome. Past recipients.

Criteria
  • Canadian citizen
  • under 30
  • have demonstrated an extraordinary degree of leadership and initiative in their community
  • have advanced public policy, public sector management or citizen participation in democracy.

The Hyman Solomon Award for Excellence in Public Policy Journalism

Peter Lougheed Award for Leadership in Public Policy

This award celebrates the journalistic standards and intellectual integrity of the late Hyman Solomon. As the Ottawa Bureau Chief of the Financial Post, he covered the complex interplay of the public and private sectors, and the intricacies of national decision-making. Past recipients.

Criteria

Canadian journalist, working in either official language who:

  • provides insights into the policy-making process in Canada
  • explains how changes in public policy affect Canadians well-being and collective economic progress.
This award is presented at our Western Dinner event and recognizes policy leadership from a Western Canadian perspective. Past recipients

Western Canadians who

  • have contributed significantly to public policy on a regional basis with national impact.

Frank McKenna Award for Leadership in Public Policy

Prix Marcel Côté Award 

This award is presented at our Atlantic Dinner event and is a testament to Atlantic Canadians’ inspirational work in improving government, business and civil society in our country.  Past recipients.

Criteria

Atlantic Canadians who  

  • have contributed significantly to public policy on a regional basis with national impact. 
Marcel Côté was a boundless visionary, a bridge-builder and a tireless advocate for good public policy. In his honour, PPF created the annual Marcel Côté Award for Leadership in Public Policy. Past recipients.

Criteria

Quebecers who  

  • demonstrate extraordinary leadership qualities and help improve public policy and public discourse at the municipal, provincial, national and/or international levels.
